How do you charge for your work, and do you offer fixed-fee engagements?
Fixed fees are the default wherever the scope is clear enough to support one. For a strategic planning engagement or an organizational design review, the fee is agreed in writing before work begins. Retainer arrangements are billed monthly. If the scope changes materially during an engagement, we discuss the implications before proceeding, not after.
How long does a typical engagement take from the first call to the final report?
It depends on the type of work. A process efficiency review typically runs four to six weeks from the initial briefing. A full strategic planning engagement usually takes three to six months, with the timeline shaped partly by how quickly the client organization can make time for interviews and review sessions. We build a draft timeline into the written scope before work begins.
Do you work in person, or is everything done remotely?
Both. Most coordination, calls, and draft reviews happen remotely. For facilitated sessions, stakeholder interviews, and key presentations, in-person attendance is usually more effective. Joseph is available to travel across Canada for in-person work. Travel costs are billed at cost and estimated in advance.
Can you work with a non-profit or public-sector organization on a limited budget?
Yes. A portion of the practice's capacity each year is reserved for non-profit and public-sector clients where the budget is genuinely constrained. The best approach is to describe your situation honestly in the first call. If the fit is right and the budget is tight, we will say so plainly and discuss what is possible.
